    In our upcoming Prosecuting Successfully webinar, we will look at recent prosecution cases and provide helpful, practical tips and guidance. We will focus on what success looks like and the consultation on oversight and regulation of private prosecutors in the criminal justice system.

    Adam Kendall and Louise Mansfield will be joined by:

    • Mark Jackson, Head of Chambers at No8 Chambers, who will be specifically focusing on prosecuting seizures of illicit tobacco products, illegal vapes, and associated closure orders.
    • Nicky Williams, solicitor at Bevan Brittan, who will be speaking on the charging process, application of the code, dealing with the CPS when other criminal charges are relevant and trial.

    Mark Jackson is Head of Chambers and is a specialist criminal practitioner specialising in regulatory law, including Fire Safety Law, Trading Law, Food Safety, Health and Safety, Environmental and Planning prosecutions and Licensing including Taxi Licensing.

    Nicky Williams is an experienced regulatory and criminal litigator specialising in enforcement and regulatory proceedings brought by prosecuting authorities. She joined Bevan Brittan in October 2024 having spent over six years working on specialist prosecutions for both the Financial Conduct Authority and Crown Prosecution Service and is able to help Clients navigate every stage of what are often lengthy and complex proceedings.

    Nicky has a particular specialism in Corporate Manslaughter and Gross Negligence Manslaughter investigations and is able to advise on every aspect of Police investigations from the all-important initial strategy, issues of disclosure, co-operation with investigative agencies and interviews under PACE caution.
