  • Housing staff have an important role to play in safeguarding, alongside colleagues in health and social care and the police. They are well placed to identify those at risk of abuse and vulnerable individuals with care and support needs. Information sharing is a key part of a multi-agency approach to keep people safe, but there can be uncertainty about when and how such information should be shared.

    Julia Jones, Partner in the Health and Care team at Bevan Brittan, and Vicki Bowles, head of Information Law and Privacy, look at some of the most common myths around safeguarding and sharing of information for the housing sector. They cover topics including:
