For the third year in succession, Bevan Brittan is pleased to be among the supporters and partners of the Bristol Housing Festival.
The Festival is a five-year project designed to stimulate new thinking around housing solutions and re-imagining better ways to live in our cities. This year, a series of virtual events, exhibitions and presentations will be held between 12 October and 1 November 2020.
Bevan Brittan is supporting a live webinar and discussion with the theme ‘Homes at the Heart: Doing Development Differently’ (October 29). Experts in the industry will discuss the role of social housing, the need for innovation in the sector, the use of modern construction methods – and the role of social housing in the UK’s recovery from COVID-19. Speakers will draw on examples from the City of Bristol.
Panel members include:
- Trina Chakravarti – Building Better Project Director, National Housing Federation
- Oona Goldsworthy - Chief Executive, Brunel Care
- Gavin Smart – Chief Executive, Chartered Institute of Housing
- Paul Smith – Chief Executive, Elim Housing
- Jez Sweetland – Project Director, Bristol Housing Festival
Jonathan Turner, Partner and Head of Housing at Bevan Brittan, said:
“We are very pleased to be supporting the Bristol Housing Festival again this year. It is now widely recognised as an event and speaking platform that stimulates new thinking and different ways to address the country’s considerable housing difficulties. The sector is working hard to find scalable and practical solutions that increase the amount of quality, affordable housing available for all – including innovative funding mechanisms or new methods of construction such as modular builds. Creating partnerships, joint ventures and complex governance and financing arrangements are now an essential part of meeting this challenge.”
Bevan Brittan has become one of the UK’s leading legal and regulatory advisors to social housing and commercial housing providers, advising some of the largest housing associations, developers and funders in the sector. It provides a full service legal offering helping clients to meet their housing challenges across the full range of their operations.
In the recently published independent directory Legal 500, Bevan Brittan once again performed strongly - achieving tier one rankings for social housing in the South West and Yorkshire and construction in the South West.
