Leading commercial law firm Bevan Brittan has appointed a new specialist housing management partner as it looks to meet growing demand from clients in the space.

Bristol-based Bethan Gladwyn has more than 20 years of experience in social housing law and practice and specialises in residential landlord and tenant law. She joins the business from Hugh James, where she led the housing management team.

Her strong portfolio of work includes advising local authorities and registered social landlords on anti-social behaviour, disrepair and broader housing management and tenancy enforcement work.

Bethan’s appointment has come at a very busy time for Bevan Brittan’s housing management team, which supports a wide range of social housing providers including housing associations, local authorities, supported housing specialists, NHS trusts and private care providers.

Andrew Shaw, Partner and joint Head of Housing for Bevan Brittan, said: “Bethan adds her impressive array of expertise and experience to our established team at a time when local authorities and registered housing providers are increasingly seeking our advice.

“The housing sector is constantly evolving and our clients need the very best support to ensure they can meet the new challenges of an ever-changing regulatory landscape. Bethan’s experience, added to the superb skillset we already have in the team, will ensure we can continue to provide high quality support and expertise to our growing client base.”

Bethan added: “I am delighted to be joining such a well-respected and in-demand team. Our collective experience and expertise will be just what local authority and social housing clients need as the market continues to evolve.”

Bethan is the sixth new partner to join Bevan Brittan this year. The business recently welcomed Brett Lambe who will boost its technology and digital health expertise.  The other new recruits include Lucy Thomas and Daniel Halstead, who both joined to help develop Bevan Brittan’s offering in the rapidly-expanding living sector, finance expert Kerry Gibbons and pensions specialist Joel Eytle.

Their arrivals coincide with another strong year of financial results. Revenue rose by a record-high of 14% to £86.7m, with profits also increasing.
