I am a dual qualified lawyer in South Africa and England and Wales. I have represented employers, contractors, subcontractors and consultants in Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the United Kingdom
I specialise in the resolution and avoidance of disputes arising out of construction and engineering matters relating to renewable energy projects, large power plant projects, civil infrastructure projects and building projects, to name a few.
My clients include large development companies, building contractors, MEP contractors and engineering companies.
I have extensive experience with FIDIC, NEC, JCT and other bespoke construction contracts. I have represented various clients in adjudication, arbitration, mediation and court proceedings.
My recent experience entails (to name a few):
- Advising an international construction company on various claims in relation to the construction of a combined cycle power plant in Ghana and representing them in an ICC arbitration.
- Representing a large international company in an LCIA arbitration relating to the construction of a large infrastructure project in Iraq.
- Representing a large UK MEP contractor in various adjudications against its subcontractor and defending adjudications in relation to a large data centre in London.
- Advising and representing BDW Trading Limited against Ardmore Construction Limited in adjudication and in proceedings against Ardmore Construction Limited to enforce the adjudicator’s decision in relation to liability for fire safety defects under the building contract and the Defective Premises Act 1972. See BDW Trading v Ardmore Construction [2024] EWHC 3234 (TCC).
- Representing a Spanish construction company in court proceedings against its employer seeking extension of time claims and loss and expense in relation to the construction of a large mixed used development in Gibraltar.
- Advising a large UK construction company in relation to various large residential developments in England and Wales and representing them in various adjudications in relation to these projects.
