I am a solicitor in the Health & Care Regulatory team, based in the London office. My work includes advising clients across the health and social care sector, including ICBs, NHS Trusts and independent health and social care providers.
My work predominantly involves advising and representing clients in Court of Protection proceedings and at inquests, however I am also instructed by clients to assist with other matters including proceedings under the inherent jurisdiction of the High Court, advice on policies and procedures, and advising clients in relation to Continuing Healthcare assessments and disputes.
I have experience of a range of different matters in the Court of Protection under both section 16 and section 21A of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, including disputes about residence and care, contact, property and financial affairs, and serious medical treatment. I also advise clients on streamlined applications to authorise deprivations of liberty in the community.
I regularly conduct advocacy in Court of Protection proceedings and at inquests.
In my previous role, I represented vulnerable adults in proceedings in the Court of Protection (primarily instructed by the Official Solicitor) and I have also acted for family members of incapacitated individuals. In addition, I have experience of advising individuals in relation to challenges to their assessed needs and care provision.
