I am a commercial property litigation specialist with considerable experience across a broad range of property and estates disputes. I have acted for a wide range of clients advising on the breadth of issues arising on their portfolios including local authorities, retailers, landed estates, landowners, housebuilders, housing associations and clients in the clean energy sector. I have a particular interest in disputes arising from development of land, including performance of contractual obligations, restrictive covenants, access issues, easements, securing vacant possession, landlord and tenant issues (including the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954), dilapidations, breaches of covenant and forfeiture.
I also have experience supporting with complex property due diligence issues on high value corporate acquisitions and disposals, acting mostly for private equity houses.
I aim to provide clear, concise commercial advice to clients with a sharp focus on the client’s objectives, priorities and limitations. Much of my advice is given alongside colleagues managing transactions, to help clients manage risk issues that might arise during a transaction. I always aim to avoid a dispute where possible but have experience of all forms of dispute resolution (including County Court, High Court, Tribunal, Expert Determination and Mediation) if that is ultimately required.
