Canal & River Trust
We work on all aspects of Canal & River Trust’s extensive property portfolio from small licence agreements to multi million pound investments and developments. A large number of our transactions with the Trust relate to leases, both those that have security of tenure pursuant to the Landlord & Tenant Act 1954 and those excluded from the provisions of that Act. We carry out a lot of property related litigation work and also act for the Trust on a number of CPO related issues. We advised in the sale of British Waterways Marinas Limited to private equity investor LDC.
NHS Property Services
We have acted for NHS Property Services Limited since its creation in 2013. We are their retained advisers for central and strategic property advice and for four out of their seven geographic regions. NHS PS has an estate of approximately 3,500 buildings, worth £3.5bn. It is a mixture of leasehold and freehold properties, comprising clinical facilities and administrative buildings. Our close working relationship with the company means that we have a good understanding of the points that are important to them and so we are able to complete transactions promptly on agreeable terms.
Local Authorities nationwide
We are well known in the legal sector for our strong capabilities in the public sector and we act for every local authority in the country. The property work is diverse and extensive, ranging from some of the most significant regeneration projects in the country to small licence agreements. We have been heavily involved with property acquisition programmes for local authorities and have carried out the resulting asset management work. The properties involved include offices, warehouses, shopping centres, residential property portfolios and strategic land.
We act for 70 Registered Providers ("RPs") including household names such as Places for People, Sanctuary, L&Q, Orbit and Peabody. We do a large amount of estate management work including Purchases, disposals, auctions, leases, licence agreements as well as sorting out easements and resolving title issues following investigation.
