Worcestershire County Council v Secretary of State for Health & Social Care
I specialise in medical law, working with a range of clients within the health, social care and housing sectors.
I provide clients with advice on issues concerning mental capacity, best interests, deprivation of liberty and serious medical treatment cases. I frequently represent healthcare commissioners and healthcare providers in proceedings before the Court of Protection and I also have experience of making applications to the High Court under the Inherent Jurisdiction. I also assist where there are challenges to the provision of care by way of judicial review.
I have regularly advised healthcare providers on health and safety matters and I have been instructed to represent providers in HSE and CQC investigations and prosecutions.
I have an interest in mental health law and, in particular, issues surrounding Section 117 aftercare. I am often asked to advise in commissioning disputes regarding Section 117 aftercare.
