I am a specialist employment lawyer with over 15 years’ experience of advising employers in all areas of contentious and non-contentious employment and HR matters. I act for healthcare organisations (both NHS and independent health and social care organisations), local authorities, central Government departments, universities, and companies ranging from SMEs to multinationals.
I have particular expertise in advising health clients and, since qualifying as a solicitor in 2004, I have worked with a number of NHS organisations both in England and in Wales. This work has included complex discrimination claims; disciplinary proceedings against hospital consultants; whistleblowing claims; and claims for unfair dismissal. I have experience of representing clients in Employment Tribunals and I have acted for clients where cases have been appealed to the Employment Appeal Tribunal.
I provide advice and training to HR officers on a range of employment issues including TUPE; disciplinary and grievance processes; managing lengthy sickness absences and consideration of reasonable adjustments for disabled employees; drafting of contracts and procedures; and general updates.
