I am a projects lawyer in the Energy and Resource Management team specialising in partnerships and collaboration between the public and private sectors. I advise clients on project agreements, services agreements and complex project structures, and I have extensive experience in advising on grant funding and financing in energy and infrastructure projects. I also advise clients on procurement processes, acting for procuring authorities and for bidders. I have advised clients through all stages of projects from the initial options appraisal through to ongoing support after mobilisation.
My clients include local authorities, housing associations and energy providers. As well as my work in the energy and resource management field, I have previously advised on large complex infrastructure and housing developments, on public/ private joint ventures and on corporate governance within the public sector and new communities. I have experience in advising on devolution and local government reorganisation including the impact those changes have on projects, governance and funding. My work includes advising new local authorities on the transfer of existing projects to new entities, as well as advising on opportunities offered by new structures such as locally led development corporations. Energy expertise includes advising on hydrogen projects, electrical infrastructure and investment into clean energy projects.
Before becoming a lawyer I previously worked in the civil service and local government, including commissioning children’s services and health and social care services, developing multi-agency partnerships, managing grant funding and in policy roles, allowing me to bring a greater insight of how public and private sector clients work into my current role.
