I am a specialist employment lawyer with over ten years’ experience advising a broad range of clients in all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law across sectors including energy and resource management, central and local government, housing associations as well as large corporate employers. I have particular expertise in complex employment litigation (including multiple claimant litigation), large scale reorganisations and restructuring, redundancies, equality matters, TUPE transfers, senior staff exits, industrial action, including balloting constituencies and procedures, and collective agreements. As well as advising on large scale projects and running complex litigation, I also provide support to HR teams and in-house legal teams, on all areas of employment law acting as a sounding board on both legal and practical HR issues giving an indication of level of risk.
I thoroughly enjoy providing commercially sound, clear to follow and strategic advice to my clients - whatever their issue or concern may be.
Rachel Newman is one of the most intelligent lawyers I've worked with. Not only can she see a way through complicated legal issues, but her ability to engage with even the most tricky of opponents with positivity ensures great outcomes.
