I am a medical law specialist working within the Health & Care - Resolution & Regulatory department. My role largely involves representing NHS bodies on areas including mental capacity and the court of protection, deprivation of liberty and inquests.
Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, I worked at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust across a range of areas and managerial levels across the Trust. During this time, I was able to gain a real insight and understanding of the day-to-day running of the various departments and the challenges faced by healthcare professionals. The invaluable experience gained from this has provided me with an understanding of their organisational goals and objectives. I have also been involved in Pro Bono work representing families of those who had been refused NHS continuing healthcare.
