    Bevan Brittan's popular annual review of the year's employment law highlights – and preview of forthcoming changes – is back this December, in London, Bristol, Leeds and Birmingham.

    The world of employment law is often described as 'ever changing' and this year has been no exception. We have seen a seismic decision on fees from the Supreme Court this Summer, as well as headline-grabbing rulings on the 'gig-economy' and a U-turn from the European Court of Human Rights on employee monitoring. There are also important cases to examine on the definition of indirect discrimination and the precise meaning of whistleblowing public interest disclosure – how 'public' does a disclosure have to be in order to qualify? Dress codes, holiday pay and redundancy after sickness absence have also been considered by the courts and tribunals this year.

    Outside of the courts and tribunals, 2017 has seen the unveiling of the much anticipated Taylor Review into 'Good Work', as well as publication of the Data Protection Bill. And as the UK heads towards the door marked 'exit' from the European Union, details are beginning to emerge of what the employment law landscape might look like after we have left.

    We will take you on a whistle-stop tour of the headline developments in workforce law over 2017, and what they mean for you in practice. We will also take a look at what's on the employment law agenda for the coming year and beyond. The morning's training will be followed by a networking lunch.

    Attending this training is completely FREE of charge. The session will include networking lunch giving you the opportunity to meet fellow attendees and direct your questions to the speakers.

    Please be aware that places for this seminar are limited and the sessions are expected to get over subscribed. Our clients get priority over non clients but we will endeavour to increase capacity where we can to allow all those who wish to attend a place. Where we are heavily over subscribed we will limit places to one or two people per organisation in which case you  may be asked to liaise with your team. Should we have to do any of the above we will be in touch with you at least 2 weeks before the event date.
