Part 1: The positives and challenges of PFI and opportunities for the future
I am a commercial lawyer with over a decade of experience advising on UK infrastructure projects (particularly PPP/PFI projects) across a wide variety of sectors (including healthcare, education, accommodation, social care, custodial, economic infrastructure and waste).
I have been the lead associate on a number of significant PPP/PFI projects and have developed a very strong expertise in the asset management of PFI projects during the operational phase – in particular in relation to variations to complex PFI documentation (including extensions to project facilities and the resulting interface with the existing project facilities and services, major changes to the services provided within the project, saving initiatives and the replacement of subcontractors) as well as many other issues which arise within the operational phase.
I have provided training sessions to clients on managing variations to PFI contracts and have had a number of articles and commentaries published in industry publications (including Partnerships Bulletin and Construction News). I have also recently spoken at industry wide events, including the Major Projects Association’s 2018 annual conference and the 2018 Construction News Summit.
