National law firm Bevan Brittan has promoted six new partners – its highest number in a single year – as part of a wider promotion round which sees 33 colleagues step into new roles.

The six became Partners from May 1 and are joined by a new Legal Director, ten new Senior Associates and 16 new Associates in a promotion round which recognises the talent of individuals across all areas of the business and in each of its four offices.

This positive news comes after a successful 12-month period in which the business also welcomed 29 new senior recruits, including eight new Partners.  Three of those Partners arrived in the first four months of 2025.

They will now be joined by the six newly-promoted Partners, including Elizabeth Dunford, Elena Goodfellow and Samantha Minchin, all based in Birmingham.

Also joining the Partner ranks at Bevan Brittan are Rachel Newman in Bristol, Leeds-based Ellie Staniforth and Tania Kahlon in London.

Women now make up 51% of the partnership ensuring balanced representation and recognising the value equality and diversity bring to the business.

Property specialist Atalay Sevket is promoted to the role of Legal Director in London and of the ten new Senior Associates, four are based in Bristol, three in London, two in Leeds and one in Birmingham.

Meanwhile Bristol sees nine new Associates, with three in London and two in each of Birmingham and Leeds.

Announcing the news, Bevan Brittan’s Managing Partner, Duncan Weir, said: “Last year, we had a record round of promotions overall and this year, we have a record number of new Partners. This demonstrates our continued success and the emphasis we place on investing in talent at all levels. Congratulations to each of them.

“All 33 colleagues who are celebrating promotion have contributed to our success and are delivering the best possible legal support and advice to our expanding client base. The breadth and depth of the legal services they provide reflects the scope of our business and the increasing range of support we can offer to clients across our markets to help them keep pace with the challenges and changes they face.”

He added Bevan Brittan, which will report its full year results in the summer, had had another successful year, building on the 11 years of consecutive revenue and profit growth it confirmed last July.
