I work nationally for clients across health and social care sectors including NHS Trusts, ICB and independent health and social care providers.
I advise clients in contentious and non-contentious matters in relation to mental health, mental capacity law and the coronial process. I provide advice and support to health and social care organisations in relation to Court of Protection matters, challenges to treatment decisions, safeguarding concerns, complaints, inquests health and safety and human rights issues.
I have experience in a range of different matters including Court of Protection proceedings concerning disputes about residence, care, contact, sexual relations, property and financial affairs, deprivation of liberty, human rights, safeguarding, complaints, challenges to treatment and serious medical treatment.
I also have extensive inquest experience. I regularly represent NHS Trusts and private providers in coronial proceedings. This includes providing support to clinicians, witnesses and organisations. This includes complex Article 2 proceedings and jury inquests.
Prior to joining Bevan Brittan I supported and advised individuals and families in a number of areas including civil actions against public authorities, human rights, inquests, judicial review and housing.
