I am an associate in the Litigation; Advisory and Regulatory department in Bevan Brittan's London office.
I joined Bevan Brittan in September 2007 as a trainee and qualified in September 2009. I am a general commercial litigator with experience of many aspects of commercial litigation, acting for both claimants and defendants. I advise a variety of national and international organisations in a range of sectors in relation to contractual disputes and other commercial disputes. I work with clients in both the public and private sectors, including local authorities, NHS trusts and The Law Society. My aim is to resolve a client's dispute as swiftly and cost effectively as possible, having my client's goals at the forefront of my mind at all times.
I have successfully concluded claims through negotiated settlement (before and after the issue of court proceedings), summary judgment and at trial. I deal with a range of breach of contract and contract termination disputes and have experience in bringing enforcement action. I also have experience in successfully defending cross-jurisdictional contract disputes.
In the wake of the Icelandic banking crisis, I have been heavily engaged in advising over 120 UK local authorities and other wholesale depositors (both public and private bodies) in international multi-party litigation at District Court and Supreme Court level to assist them in recovering sums in excess of £1bn which they had on deposit with the failed Icelandic banks.
