I am an associate in the Litigation, Advisory and Regulatory department at Bevan Brittan LLP specialising in information law, reputation management and compliance law.
I advise private and public sector clients in relation to all areas of information law including: compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and Freedom of Information Act 2000; preparation for the General Data Protection Regulation; handling complex subject access requests; international data transfers; and electronic marketing campaigns.
I also guide organisations through their statutory compliance obligations arising from the Bribery Act 2010, Modern Slavery Act 2015, Competition Act 1998 and Data Protection Act 1998. This includes providing tailored training sessions for boards and employees, drafting internal compliance procedures and advising on specific compliance issues. I am a joint author of the bribery offences chapter in Cordery on Legal Services which is the principal authority on the law and practice affecting the regulation of the supply of legal services.
As a specialist in reputation management, I help protect the reputations of organisations and their employees. This will often involve creating a practical strategy for bringing an end to online abuse but in serious cases will include pursuing claims for harassment, defamation, breach of the Data Protection Act 1998, misuse of private information or breach of confidence.
