• I am an experienced commercial property solicitor who acts for clients within the healthcare sector. I am recognised within the current Legal 500 directory as a ‘key lawyer’ and won the Northern Powerhouse Legal 500 Award 2023 for ‘Rising Star of the Year in the Public Sector’.

I deal with a wide range of transactions for clients from acting for landlords and tenants on leases, to high value disposals and acquisitions. I have acted for a number of healthcare bodies over the years including NHS Property Services Limited and Community Health Partnerships Limited (who hold NHS health estates with a value of in excess of £5 billion).

I also have substantial experience in dealing with portfolio and estate work and complex lease transactions, including NHS Local Improvement Finance Trusts (LIFT). I have provided strategic property advice to national healthcare bodies and assistance in a wide range of other ancillary matters, including documenting one of the largest lease programmes by putting in place over 4500 documented tenancies across the NHS Estate.

I thoroughly enjoy keeping up to date with updates in law affecting the healthcare sector and regularly host seminars. I am proud of the relationships I have with my clients some of whom I have represented for many years.

I sat on the board of directors of York and North Yorkshire Business Development Limited and was previously an examiner for CILEX Law School.

Charles Stent has the ability to get to the heart of the issue, by jettisoning the dross to focus on the relevant matter. Pragmatic, resolute and with the ability to take a commercial view, Charles is always prepared to rise to any challenge and gets the job done….as swiftly as the other side allow.
