I am a healthcare lawyer and have a background in acting for medical professionals and organisations across a wide range of areas including clinical negligence claims, regulatory and disciplinary proceedings and inquests. In addition, I routinely advise on various medico-legal issues, such as data protection, confidentiality and consent. I am able to utilise my experience and knowledge of medical law in order to analyse and distil down complex problems, providing practical advice and support to my clients.
Prior to joining Bevan Brittan, I worked as a senior in-house lawyer for one of the main medical defence organisations in the UK.
- GMC v Stone EWHC 2534 (Admin) – acted for the defendant (and subsequently respondent) in fitness to practise proceedings and subsequent High Court appeal.
- GMC v Chopra EWHC 819 (Admin) – acted for the defendant in successfully opposing the extension of an interim order of suspension.
- Unreported clinical negligence claim – acted for one of two GP defendants in a claim brought for the alleged delayed diagnosis of meningitis in an infant, leading to catastrophic brain injury.
